About Biblical Counseling Ministry
We are not Christian psychologists or psychiatrists. We are biblical counselors who begin with the question, "What does God's Word say?" as we seek to address the needs in people's lives. In biblical counseling the heart is the target. The simplest, most biblical answer to the question "Why do people do the things they do?" can be found by asking this question, "What is controlling the heart?" Our goal is heart change. Any help that fails to reach the heart is no help at all. A therapeutic culture may offer insights into the shadows, but it cannot dispel them. Only the gospel can do that.
As biblical counselors we believe that the Bible is sufficient and necessary in addressing the root issues in the lives of people of all ages. We believe the Bible's own testimony: "All Scripture is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Tim 3:16,17). God wrote of Himself, "...His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us..." (2 Pet. 1:3).
